It's Been Spoken For

It's Been Spoken For

Did you know that the word bespoke comes from English tailors where the client would ask after a particular piece of cloth to which the tailor would respond that the 'cloth had been spoken for'. We often want what we can't have. I am sure this response would have been great for business.

Today bespoke means anything that is properly custom made, that varies between countries and product categories, and certainly the standard for bespoke on Savile Row is different from a bespoke coach builder for a car or carriage.

What we offer as bespoke is a custom service whereby we will set down and create for you your own pattern. The diamond point on the left was developed with pointier ends this week for our customer Omari, as such the pattern is now called the Omari. The same can be said for the Rizk pattern on the right. We have patterns called Porter, Remy, Warhol, Norman, Juan, Sia and more, though not every pattern is named after a customer, sometimes it's named after the person that inspires the bow tie.

This week, after my post on former British PM Harold Macmillan and his tucked behind the collar bow tie, one newsletter reader that comes from a more gilded world than myself, wrote in to make an introduction to Macmillan's grandson, on the off chance he would help with my next project, a recreation of that bow tie.

I will keep you posted.

That being said, I am available to all of you for bespoke projects on +61413140994
