King Charles must wear his bow ties a lot because you can clearly see if you zoom in on this image that his bow tie has frayed on the top edge, most likely because he keeps a clean shaven face, and inevitably the face rubs against the silk causing fine hairs to pop up.
It is an easy remedy to get it back to looking it's best. You need a cigarette lighter, like a Bic one, and a pair of finger scissors. If the King's valet was doing his job properly he should have known this before the 450,000 Euro lobster dinner...
As for President Macron - how on God's Green Earth does the leader of the country that has given the world all those luxury brands opted for a wing tip collar and pre-tied bow tie? It saddens me that this is the state of the world in which we live in. It's also a little upsetting that he continually chooses narrow lapels on both suits and tuxedos that don't marry with his stature.
