So, today's foray is into Greek Mythology and finding stones to place together that being meaning to each set. Below are three examples:

Amethyst + Hematite – The Tempered Mind

Story: Dionysus (ecstasy) meets Ares (discipline). Legend says amethyst was born from Dionysus’ tears on clear quartz after sobering up from rage.

Symbolism: Wisdom restrained by order; ideal for those curbing impulsive passion to achieve mastery.

Aesthetic: Cool violet against metallic grey — calm intellect anchored by gravity.

Lapis Lazuli + Carnelian – The Oracle of Delphi

Story: Apollo’s fiery carnelian energy balanced by Athena’s lapis intellect — prophecy through clarity rather than frenzy.

Symbolism: Vision, eloquence, the courage to speak truth.

Aesthetic: Blue-gold with burnt orange — royal yet earthy, like the Pythia’s robes in flickering torchlight.

Obsidian + Carnelian  The Forge of Hephaestus

  • Story: Fire trapped in stone. Carnelian was worn by smiths and soldiers for courage; obsidian born of volcanic glass — creation through heat.

  • Symbolism: Transformation through adversity; power tempered by purpose.

  • Aesthetic: Deep gloss black with glowing ember orange — masculine, protective, alive.
