Some men just do clothes very well. It's the shape of their bodies, the condition they keep it in, whether or not they have hair, where that hair grows and so on. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I can still see the vestiges of what might be considered my handsome youth but for the most part my hair keeps slipping off the crown of my head, my teeth want to turn yellow with each passing year and when I look at a burger my mouth secretes saliva like a rabid dog.
But not for Marty Thomas. He is looking so trim and handsome and he has 65 years to his name. So much so that when he told me his age I said "wow, man, you are in very good nick" and I think he was very happy to hear it.
He is a natural clothes horse, an expression I rarely if ever use but he seems to be that. His instagram is the first man handle of an Australian in menswear that I've really taken to in the last few years. He takes an Australian approach to European classic elegance. I suggest you follow him. @thelifeofmartythomas.
And he's showing you how to wear a silk scarf in the late afternoon with a glass of champagne. That's a good role model for Australian men. Down with the craft beer and off with the things, on goes the scarf and up comes the champagne.
Be well.
