A New Design Based On Sandro Boticelli's La Primavera
There are those images in life that strike you and you never forget them. Sometimes it's a poster, sometimes graffiti, sometimes a canvas. And of course, anyone that used Adobe will know that Boticelli is the logo you have known for 30 years as you loaded up your software.
HOW PEOPLE WEAR OUR FACE MASKS - MADE IN AUSTRALIA - PROTECTION WITH STYLE
To be fair, it will be a long time before we get a definitive study and assessment of how effective cloth masks were in the fight against Covid. I have read in some articles that it decreases the chance of contracting disease - bacterial or viral - by a factor of five. What a subjective thing that is though. I would not rely on anything to be honest. Nothing except your own common sense. Wash your hands, stay inside, if you go out, cover your face. In an instance the other week I will tell you three things I observed. 1. I watched my breath whilst I was vaping on the couch. I breathed out. I was surprised, it travelled half the room. Covid stays in the air for up to 12 hours. What do you think about that? I deduced that when I pass a runner on the promenade, he's still breathing on me even after he passed. 2. I went to grocery store. I went to lick my fingers so I could open a plastic bag to put fresh tomatoes in. I couldn't lick my finger because my finger was blocked by my mask. Then I looked at the tomatoes. Who else had touched them? I bought them still. But I washed them and my hands when I got home. 3. I am conscious of Covid every time I am wearing a mask - it's on my face, the elastic is pressing on my ears, though it doesnt irritate my face, my ears feel it, so I don't want it all day. To be honest, it makes me limit my movements. I become, not paranoid, but aware. This is not business as usual. It's a pandemic. Don't forget it. Drop your guard, it could be you. Don't touch that pole if you can avoid it. Don't grab onto that railing if you can avoid it. And finally, when you get home, take it off. Breathe. Wash it. Another day done.
How To Make A Face Mask Using A Piece Of Cloth And Two Rubber Bands A La Dr. Jerome Adams
I successfully did exactly that which is instructed by Dr. Jerome Adams in his tutorial on how to make a face mask using two rubber bands and a folded square of cloth which means every silk pocket square you own is not a potential face mask. Admittedly, it's a little impractical, but how easy is it to keep a few rubber bands in your pocket and a pochette. Outstanding. So simple. Try it for yourself. And consider our 42 cm squared pochettes on our online store. www.lenoeudpapillon.com
Why I Believe You Should Still Wear A Mask
...
However, the N95's are in short supply and most governments around the world seem to be advocating for the general public to find any face mask whilst our own government in Australia, shamefully, is telling the general public the exact opposite.

DIY Sewing In A Straight Line By Hand
An old Italian tailor by the name of Frank once taught me how to sew in a straight line and I never forgot it. He's now of the age that Covid might take him if he gets exposed, so I want to honour him for passing it on. Frank, you are the best.
NEW SILK FACE MASKS ONLINE - INSTRUCTIONS ON WASHING THEM
We have published our pattern in the hope that others will follow. It is good to see today that Australians are starting to get the message and taking quarantine more seriously. The face masks we are currently making feature a front pleated and plain option woven silk jacquard, and in the more ornate ones, gold lurex details. The rear side is made from fine woven Swiss cotton. The face masks can be washed in hot water in a basin with laundry detergent, rinsed by hand and preferably placed in direct sunlight to dry. A mask becomes far less effective when moist. So keep them dry. And please be safe out there and follow the strict guidelines set by our respective government health departments.

How To Screen Print The Most Luxurious Silk Twills And Satin Silks - The Dyeing Art
Digital printing is taking over much of the production that occurs in printing on fabrics that I saw from the luxury high end brands that make in Italy. Only a handful of companies continue to screen print, and the ones that screen print on silk are even fewer. It's a dyeing art unless more companies are willing to invest in those few that continue to have their doors open.
