So really, when I don these suits and shirts and ties and bow ties and loafers and Oxfords and suspenders and pochettes and scarves, really, I am dressing for everyone I come into contact with as much as for myself, to offer you something to talk about and when the following day when you are ringing your friends for a debrief you might say "and what about that strange cat in the pink suit, what was his story". Well now you know.

Jamie Foxton submitted this fountain pen on paper sketch yesterday afternoon after I had to write a self-deprecating assessment of the competition so far where there had been one formal submission (and another one that I forgot about). The first was Linda Vinci from Baltimore USA, the second from Maryanne Stone in Sydney.

Don't get me wrong, it works to my advantage if it is true, well, put frankly, I would be happy to serve women, they are so much more liberal with their money when they are spending on themselves. When it comes to spending on our website for their men, not so much, in fact, they are the most excellent bargain hunters. It's enviable. I would like their skill set. 

On Saturday night my lady was taking me out for dinner and I wanted to give my new spunky pink suit a twirl. I was overdressed but you know what, it's so nice to entertain other people and I love a compliment on clothes, beats one over a fancy watch to be honest. Did you know that the word bespoke comes from English tailors where the client would ask after a particular piece of cloth to which the tailor would respond that the 'cloth had been spoken for'. We often want what we can't have. I am sure this response would have been great for business. 

We begin the year with a portrait competition. Entries close March 31st, 2025. This year's first competition is focused on a self-portrait using pencils, crayons, texta, fountain pens, ink, brush and paper. You are basically encouraged to find whatever you have within your office or home and get cracking. No digital art or AI is allowed in this competition. We really want you to go back to analogue. Paintings using brush and paint will not be accepted, however, ink and brush on paper will be. 

The first prize will be $1000.00 cash. The two runners up will receive $500.00 in gift vouchers to the website at RRP. We wish you the best of luck and we will be available to answer any questions.

A hand-tied velvet bow tie.
