We Cut New Silks Each Week - So Keep Checking Back

We Cut New Silks Each Week - So Keep Checking Back

There is something refreshing about the fact that you can come to our website each week and see something brand new, something circled back upon, something that's one off. And, for me anyway, it's a nice feeling that we are rarely if ever flat or devoid of something new to pick at. It's my job to entertain you, it's not just black bow ties we do, even if that's what we are most revered for, we now have so much more to offer you from silk scarves to silk eye shades, merino wool t shirts, evening shirts, neck ties.... and the list goes on.

What We Wanted To Do With Our New Cufflinks

What We Wanted To Do With Our New Cufflinks

There are many cufflinks out there so we never wanted to add to the generic stock of them. With the new range we were just hoping to add “our thing”...

I Could Wax Lyrical, But They Ought To Speak For Themselves

By now many of you who have reached our site have most probably followed our Instagram and if you have, you’d have seen my journey to Japan and the interviews...

Postcards From Shigo Kogen

Sometimes I am not even sure how my own brain is working. I was having a short break on the mountain after my time in Tokomachi when I skied past...

It Will Take Some Time But It Will Trickle Through - New Designs From Le Noeud Papillon

It Will Take Some Time But It Will Trickle Through - New Designs From Le Noeud Papillon

On one particular evening between Hiroshima and Nagano when I revisited Tokyo, my translator Joni picked me up and we went to visit a friend of his who owned a small jazz bar. Afterward he wanted to show me what he referred to as the "Beverly Hills" of Tokyo, Daikanyama. And outside a groovy, in fact is must have been the most elegant bookstore I have ever been to, was a cherry blossom in an early bloom. I took a photo and did a render with my bot. I love it. There will be many designs to come, but for the moment they are mostly sitting as sketches on my pad or half finished files on my computer.

Closing Dates Japan

I am away all of February so please, keep an eye out on Instagram in the interim as hopefully I will be getting access to Japanese yuzen silk makers, knife and scissor makers and much much more. If you need me before I go, +61413140994 will get straight through to me.

Well Are We? Google Gemini Ranks Le Noeud Papillon As No 1 In The World For Bow Ties

Of course, it is humbling, because the truth of it is that I am a small cog in a bigger wheel, I can't have this moniker without my seamstresses, without the silk weavers, without the metal accessories makers I work with, without my secret interlinings and those that make them, and, without you, the customer, who chooses us over all the others they might engage.

Matt Spaiser From Bond Suits Responds To Our 007 Dr No Bow Ties

Mr Atgemis is one of the worlds foremost neckwear artisans and produces some of the finest bow ties and accessories in the world. He designs his bow ties with an artistic eye for detail, and he clearly has a lot of fun doing so. The bow ties are handmade in Australia to the highest standards, and they revealed to me a quality of bow tie I never knew existed. They arrive packaged in beautiful boxes wrapped in a ribbon and include a card inside with instructions on how to tie a bow tie, making these bow ties an excellent gift.

It’s Time To Make Australians

It’s Time To Make Australians

During the Italian Risorgimento, once the House of Savoy had unified the peninsula, it confronted a problem more difficult than war: identity. Massimo d’Azeglio captured it succinctly — “Fatta l’Italia, bisogna fare gli italiani.” Italy had been made; Italians had not. People spoke different dialects, held loyalties to regions rather than a nation, and shared little beyond geography. Unity required something deeper than borders.

The first news anchor we ever saw wearing our neck tie on the news was the later Peter Harvey with his inimitable voice. It was a big win. In fact, I believe he announced the lowest interest rates in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis of 2008 after he was anchoring post Brian Henderson's retirement. Back then it was Anoushka Wood who was running wardrobe and I have to thank her for getting behind us.

Why We Keep Making Australian Made Bow Ties

Why We Keep Making Australian Made Bow Ties

Michael flew up from Melbourne to see us. He was able glean enough from the website and through Whatsapp pictures and videos, but like many discerning men, he just wanted to be right in front of the product. And we understand that, it's just not that easy to choose the bow tie for your biggest day without having it on. So, as always, I encourage you, if you can make it, come visit the Studio by appointment. In the end Michael went for a Majestic Black, our best selling bow tie, but not before he checked out every other option just to make sure, and it was his call, we never push you towards one or the other though if you ask for our opinion we will offer it. +61413140994

Proust And The Well Examined Life

Proust And The Well Examined Life

Certain passages of text resonate with you as you journey through life and the first time I heard the passage below it was read to me on Audible by some very effete slightly effeminate Englishman who made the Verdurin woman sound like an absolute punish. And he made Odette seemed very contrived.
