There is something refreshing about the fact that you can come to our website each week and see something brand new, something circled back upon, something that's one off. And, for me anyway, it's a nice feeling that we are rarely if ever flat or devoid of something new to pick at. It's my job to entertain you, it's not just black bow ties we do, even if that's what we are most revered for, we now have so much more to offer you from silk scarves to silk eye shades, merino wool t shirts, evening shirts, neck ties.... and the list goes on. 

There are many cufflinks out there so we never wanted to add to the generic stock of them. With the new range we were just hoping to add “our thing”...

By now many of you who have reached our site have most probably followed our Instagram and if you have, you’d have seen my journey to Japan and the interviews...

Sometimes I am not even sure how my own brain is working. I was having a short break on the mountain after my time in Tokomachi when I skied past...

On one particular evening between Hiroshima and Nagano when I revisited Tokyo, my translator Joni picked me up and we went to visit a friend of his who owned a small jazz bar. Afterward he wanted to show me what he referred to as the "Beverly Hills" of Tokyo, Daikanyama. And outside a groovy, in fact is must have been the most elegant bookstore I have ever been to, was a cherry blossom in an early bloom. I took a photo and did a render with my bot. I love it. There will be many designs to come, but for the moment they are mostly sitting as sketches on my pad or half finished files on my computer.

Of course, it is humbling, because the truth of it is that I am a small cog in a bigger wheel, I can't have this moniker without my seamstresses, without the silk weavers, without the metal accessories makers I work with, without my secret interlinings and those that make them, and, without you, the customer, who chooses us over all the others they might engage.

He designs his bow ties with an artistic eye for detail, and he clearly has a lot of fun doing so. The bow ties are handmade in Australia to the highest standards, and they revealed to me a quality of bow tie I never knew existed. They arrive packaged in beautiful boxes wrapped in a ribbon and include a card inside with instructions on how to tie a bow tie, making these bow ties an excellent gift.

Michael flew up from Melbourne to see us. He was able glean enough from the website and through Whatsapp pictures and videos, but like many discerning men, he just wanted to be right in front of the product.
