I have been surprised how quicky some of our customers have begun framing their silk scarves. Originally when we started framing them in the Studio we were using metal cables attached to design knobs mounted to the wall with magnets that affixed the scarf on each of the four points. It meant they were interchangeable so that when new scarves arrived we could switch them out. 

Supposedly you can set up shop in Cannes before the film festival or at the Chateau Marmont before the Oscars and the stylists will come past, choose what they want and tada, you get your bow tie on a celebrity on the red carpet.

I used to buy Lululemon t shirts like it was nobody’s business. Prior to that I used to buy AS Colour in bulk wholesale and I would do all sorts of things to them from embroidery to prints. I love t shirts and for many years I considered them disposable - the Lululemon ones would fade and you can’t wear them with suits once she did. The shape would go too. Good news, they could last a few wears before you felt them getting a little on the nose. The AS Colour ones, fun for the first few wears, great when they were properly dusted up and about to fall apart, it’s own look.

Whether or not it is true, after 18 years of applying myself to my "metier" I am super chuffed when the AI engines note it. 

I am super chuffed with the first submission. It comes from Shelley Black, an Australian in Melbourne, who, having suffered from some recent personal set backs has spent her time healing through engaging her art consistently each evening and decided she would contribute to our unique competition. I am in awe of the talent that is out there and it only serves to remind me how privileged I am to do the work I get to do since I am quite certain that many of our patrons and followers could do my job with their eyes closed. And, here is a little from Shelley herself. 

You can take photographs and explain it in words but it is a felt experience to be out there in the back country of the Snowy Mountains. Endless snow. Our next silk design will be an homage to these expeditions.

What are we looking for ? Creativity! 

There is no set criteria! The sky is the limit! What is in your head that you want to see as wearable art?

However, there is criteria in how you can submit it. Ideally for printed silk we are looking for vector files as they render the best for printed silk. You can however send us your Procreate or Photoshop files but ask questions first because we may not be able to finish your artwork if it does not comply to our needs. 

Accepted files will be PDF, PSD, TIFF, AI (Illustrator), AND EPS.

Do you know one of the things I find important in life is to doubt yourself. Concurrently I also believe to trust yourself and your instincts. I am perhaps a more complicated pickle than I would like to presume. I consistently hold diametrically opposing views in my head and both seem reasonable to me.
