To Still Wear Silk In The Heat

To Still Wear Silk In The Heat

I am not one to suffer for fashion. Even enduring a black tie wedding mid summer in Australia is a form of torture that force you to really consider your love for those getting married who wish to force you in January heat to wear a tuxedo. But I have found that wool can be cool in the middle of summer - sort of - it's still better to go for a Hawaiian shirt and linen shorts to be fair.

Livin’ Better Now, Coogi Sweater Now

When Coogi started in Torak in 1969 it was known as Cuggi. It wasn’t until the mid-1980’s that the name changed to something more indigenous Australian sounding. And it wasn’t until the early 90’s that it really gained traction in the US market with Biggie Smalls rapping about them.

The Original Original Recipe For Pasta Bolognese

Inundated with crap it is hard not to get off Instagram at the end of the evening and feel like you just consumed a lot of garbage to get to one pearl of wisdom or something that might in fact add value to your life

The Argument For A Silk Scarf

The Argument For A Silk Scarf

I alighted from the chairlift (are you allowed to alight from a chairlift or only a train?) and the wind was absolutely blistering. I was testing some skis I decided to purchase after I got a tax refund that I had no idea was due back to me. Very happy indeed.

The Cliffs Of Vaucluse - Our Latest Limited Edition Print

live not far from The Studio in Vaucluse. I have lived in the area for five years now. I have always loved the walks around here, The Hermitage nature walk, the walks along the cliffs by the lighthouse. Especially in the afternoon light, when it’s golden, it is a beautiful time.

Our Bespoke Service Is Unique - Don't Miss That Opportunity

Have you ever gotten to a retail store and asked for a bow tie and then the selection is small, mostly pre-tied and nothing is what you want? That was my dilemma too. Which is why I hold onto so many silks here at the Studio. So that you can not only choose the silk you want, but you can marry it with a shape that suits your face.

Richard, on the right, bought a navy tuxedo and had previously owned one of our black bow ties in a twill silk. He wanted the same now in navy. He couldn't find it in the store where he purchased his tuxedo, so he reached out by Whatsapp. We made him 5 different navy silks from which he chose this one. He was very happy and said that the details were noticed.

The Tools God Blessed You With - Thank You Jonathan

The Tools God Blessed You With - Thank You Jonathan

I did say originally that you could use AI in your submissions but of course what I really wanted is exactly what Jonathan Newhouse submitted for us this week and it caught me by surprise. I don't really want to harp on about it too much because it shouldn't overshadow all the other submissions but let me just say this - the man sat down and really made a piece of art. So thank you Jonathan and please, to all our other prospective participants, don't shy away from taking a pencil to paper. My daughter did a portrait of me last year in 45 minutes that was so good I had it framed. You never know what is in your hands and head until you commit them to paper - or as is often common these days - an iPad.

OUR NUMBER ONE SELLING BOW TIE

OUR NUMBER ONE SELLING BOW TIE

The word that often springs to mind about our Majestic Black is plump. The same way the old masters painted women with a great fullness, which in those days suggested sexuality, sensuality and fertility; so our Majestic Black is perhaps more plump to suggest a higher caste of bow tie.

It's centre knot crease, the dimples on either side, the drape it offers on the underside along with the richness of the black satin silk we use - all of this plays into the presence of our best selling bow tie. Of course, if you hear it from me you will think there is a great deal of shill which is why today I am sharing the thoughts of one of our most recent Google reviews from David Paul in Hawaii.

Please read what he has to say.
